1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Project Black Box website ("the Site"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Site.

Project Black Box reserves the right to modify these terms at any time. Continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.

2. Site Purpose and Services

The Site is informational in nature and provides:

  • Information about Project Black Box security services
  • Educational tools to assess your digital exposure (IP address display and email breach checking)
  • A contact form to inquire about security consulting services

The exposure checker tools are for self-assessment and educational purposes only. They are not comprehensive security audits.

3. Exposure Checker Tools

IP Address Display:

The Site displays your current IP address and approximate location. This information is already visible to any website you visit. No guarantee is made regarding the accuracy of geolocation data.

Email Breach Checker:

  • The breach checker queries third-party databases (such as HaveIBeenPwned) to determine if your email appears in known data breaches.
  • Results are based on publicly available breach data and may not be complete or up-to-date.
  • We do not access your email account, passwords, or private information.
  • No guarantee is made regarding the completeness or accuracy of breach results.
4. Limitations and Disclaimers

No Warranty: The Site and exposure tools are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

No Guarantee of Security: The exposure tools do not provide comprehensive security assessments. A "no breaches found" result does not guarantee that your information is secure.

Limitation of Liability: Project Black Box is not responsible for any damages resulting from your use of the Site or reliance on information provided by the exposure tools.

Third-Party Services: The Site relies on third-party APIs and services. Project Black Box is not responsible for the accuracy, availability, or privacy practices of these third parties.

5. Authorized Security Testing Services

All security assessment services offered by Project Black Box require:

  • Documented authorization agreement
  • Written permission from the organization
  • Clearly defined assessment boundaries and timeframes

Authorization Required: Project Black Box does not perform security assessments on any system, network, or application without documented authorization. Any request for unauthorized assessment will be declined.

6. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to use the Site to:

  • Perform any illegal activity or solicit illegal services
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to systems, networks, or accounts
  • Abuse or overload the exposure checker tools
  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations
  • Infringe on the rights of others
7. User Responsibilities

When using the exposure checker tools, you agree that:

  • You will only check email addresses you own or have permission to check
  • You will not use the tools to target or harass others
  • You understand that results are informational and should not be the sole basis for security decisions
8. Intellectual Property

All content on the Site, including text, graphics, logos, and code, is the property of Project Black Box or its licensors and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Project Black Box from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Site or violation of these Terms.
